The WAP-Server has the same functionality as a WAP-Gateway , but additionally content can be placed on the server like on a web-server. This content can be WML documents, images, CGI programs, server scripts and much more. An advantage is a shorter response time because no other server has to be contacted to fulfill a request. 

 

Through the use of  server scripts it is possible to implement rather complex applications like handling Lotus Mail in a WAP interface on the ccWAP Server.

 

There are many possibilities to bring the ccWAP Gateway and the ccWAP Server into action:

 

With the help of the dialup-server functionality of Windows you can set up GSM access to your computer where the ccWAP Gateway or the ccWAP Server is running.  After this,  access information on your computer at home or to initiate some actions on it when you are on the road by simply using a mobile phone (or PDA).
